In the opening session of the 2021 Esri International User Conference, Esri founder/president, Jack Dangermond, presented Esri’s Enterprise GIS Award to LOJIC. Dangermond’s award presentation cited LOJIC’s 30-plus year history of collaboration and model interagency partnership, its vast collection of geospatial data and rich collection of desktop and web applications that benefit our community.
Metro Mayor, Greg Fischer, accepted the Enterprise GIS Award on behalf of LOJIC partners, Metro Government, Louisville Water Company, Jefferson County PVA and Louisville MSD. In his acceptance, Mayor Fischer commented that the LOJIC partnership and our many uses of GIS had changed how local business is conducted and has improved services to local citizens. Mayor Fischer noted several important recent uses of LOJIC including monitoring and reporting activities related to the Covid-19 pandemic, advancing social equity in local planning and economic development, and providing citizens access to more information through LOJIC’s growing Open Data Portal, interactive web maps and Story Maps.
